HoD News - 9 April 2019

Dear colleagues,

WPA/APV
The Work Place Assessment/ArbejdsPlads Vurdering (WPA/APV) reports gathering the results of the survey will become public on 9 April at noon, and you probably already have access to them when reading this, see: https://medarbejdere.au.dk/administration/hr/arbejdsmiljoe/apv/. The reports are prepared at different levels of aggregation: AU level, faculty level, department level, and department unit level. The reports are very detailed, and it will take some time to digest the contents and draw conclusions. I already had access to the reports but will refrain from drawing my own conclusions at present. Notwithstanding, I can reveal that even though the results at the department aggregate level follow the general pattern of Aarhus BSS and the AU as a whole, the more disaggregate figures for sections and units provide a more dispersed picture. In the coming days, the dean’s office and myself will provide more information about the main WPA/APV results.

During the coming months, it is important that we all carefully study and discuss the contents of reports. The separate sections and units of the department, LSU, and the Departmental Forum will arrange separate meetings and will be asked to collect what they believe are the main inferences to be drawn from the reports. This input will be gathered and an action plan will be formulated and discussed in the management team and the relevant fora. I thank you for taking part in this discussion within the department. Your input will be important for improving the work environment where necessary.

Temporary change of head of section
Unfortunately the head of the logistics section has been taken ill. Meanwhile, I have decided to take over the position as section head. My hope is that this will only be for a short period.
