Happy New Year and welcome back to the start of a new calendar year - I hope that you have enjoyed the Christmas holidays.

It is January, a busy month of exams, not only for our students, but also for you staff, and I know that many of you are busy marking papers and preparing for oral examinations. Speaking of exams, not only the universities, but the entire education sector is now facing yet another challenge with the emerging artificial intelligence software, most recently the ChatGPT that was launched in December.

Last week, Aarhus University clearly stated that the use of AI chatbots, such as ChatGPT or similar software, in exams is considered cheating, and this message has been communicated to both students and staff (The use of AI chatbots is not permitted in exams).
