Special holidays

As you know, the financial situation of the University and Aarhus BSS is under pressure. This also applies to our department. In this difficult time, the hitherto general practice of payout of the five special holidays constitutes a significant financial burden to the Department. I have therefore decided that, as a rule, payout of the five special holidays will no longer be possible, and I ask that the special holidays are to be taken. Payout may only take place in extraordinary cases. A separate e-mail with more detailed information about the notice of special holidays will follow shortly.

Databases and research infrastructure

In the autumn, I informed you that the funding of databases with the support from DRDS (Danish Research Data for the Social Sciences) will expire during 2023. However, together with departmental funding we have succeeded in finding alternative funding for a number of critical databases for the rest of 2023. I would like to thank grant holders and others who have found it possible to contribute to this funding. We are presently considering new funding sources of this important education and research infrastructure for the coming years.

For your information, subscription to Bloomberg will terminate 1 January 2023. The GFD (Global Financial Data, Incorporated) will terminate on 31 August 2023.

ECON Christmas party on 9 December

After a very long period of restrictions on get-togethers, I am glad that the Department is finally able to host the annual ECON Christmas Party again. I hope to see many colleagues there and join in the festive cheer.
