Visiting PhD student: Benjamin Friedrich

Benjamin Friedrich, who is a PhD student at Yale, will be visiting the Department for the period 11 - 27 November. He will start using our merged firm-worker data sets at Statistics Denmark for a paper on hierarchies, firm reorganization and wage inequality. An important application for firm dynamics is international trade with firms starting export activities which in turn trigger major expansion and organizational restructuring. This together  with the structure of the Danish labour market with its flexicurity model, wage flexibility and job mobility make Denmark a good case study for the theoretical setting from which testable implications are derived. Benjamin Friedrich will be sitting in C11.
