Fuglesangs Allé plagued by vandalism

Over the course of February, the buildings and interior at Fuglesangs Allé have been the targets of several acts of vandalism. The operating staff have registered about thirty acts of destruction, which include shredded chairs, sofas and paintings, cut cables and walls that have been destroyed.

These acts of vandalism have been reported to the police, and from now on the operating staff will be paying extra attention to the people present on the premises at night and during the weekends. On their night shifts, the caretakers will do extra rounds around the campus, and an agreement has been made with a local security agency, Jysk Vagt- og Hundetjeneste, who will be present at the campus in the service of preventing any further incidents. The staff will be going through the surveillance videos regularly, and the plan is to install more video surveillance.

“When doing our rounds around the premises, we will be paying extra attention to the people in the buildings – and not least to what they are doing. We want to encourage everyone, both students and employees, to help us keep an eye out for individuals who somehow stand out or seem suspicious. However, we are not asking you to take action but to contact us immediately if you see someone acting suspiciously,” says buildings inspector Knud Simonsen.

Limited access to the buildings
If these incidents keep happening, the only solution will be to restrict access to the buildings outside the regular opening hours.
