BSS students on the winning team of Challenge 2012
For the fifth time, PwC is hosting the case competition ‘Challenge’, and BSS is represented on the winning team.
Helle Mikkelsen studies Business Economics and Auditing at the Department of Economics and Business. She has just won the case competition ‘Challenge’ together with an interdisciplinary group consisting of students from different study areas at BSS and Copenhagen Business School (CBS). The prize was access to PwC competency courses worth more than DKK 30.000.
- The challenge was to express yourself in such a way that everybody played a part as well as drawing on each other’s areas of study. My group was rather bright and everybody was prepared to be part of the team and respect one another, says Helle Mikkelsen.
Insight into the working life
HC Consultant Louise Petersen is the driving force behind Challenge at PwC and she believes that the reaction of Helle Mikkelsen matches one of the most significant aspects about Challenge:
- We want to challenge the students academically, but we also want to give them an insight into the working life that awaits them after the studies.
According to Louise Petersen, you should be academically strong, but also possess the ability to co-operate, organise a work process and be able to deliver under a certain time pressure. All of these things feature in the everyday life of a consultant. Therefore, these features are represented in Challenge, in which the ambition is to simulate a working process at a large auditing and consulting business.
Networking is also a key element in the Challenge concept. Besides having the opportunity to meet other ambitious students and various profiles at PwC, the day is rounded off with a special dinner.
