Head of Department Niels Haldrup

Dear all,

The month of September is coming to an end and as always, the start of a new semester has been a busy time for everyone.

Record-high number of external funding applications

As I have mentioned before, securing external funding is absolutely essential for the economy of the department. I want to thank those colleagues who have been busy preparing applications for calls to AUFF NOVA, DFF/IFRD and the Carlsberg foundation this month. Approx. 50 applications have been submitted these last weeks, and we hope for a high success rate even though we also have to realize that external research funding is becoming increasingly competitive. I appreciate your efforts and hope that your research plans will be fulfilled.

Reducing energy use on Campus Fuglesangs Allé

In this week’s ECON Newsletter, you will find information about a new campaign website on energy-saving measures at AU. In addition to the initiatives mentioned on the website, BSS Building Services has been looking into possible local measures on Campus Fuglesangs Allé. The period for automatic lighting will thus be reduced to 7:00-17:00 in most office corridors, and we expect that further initiatives will follow soon.
