Head of Department Niels Haldrup

Dear colleagues,

Corona passport re-introduced on campus

As notified by the University Management last week (Information to all staff 26 Nov. 2021), the corona passport has been re-introduced on all AU campuses from Monday 29 November, and all students, staff and visitors to Aarhus University must be able to present a valid corona passport on request.

On campus Fuglesangs Allé, G4S is responsible for carrying out random checks for both students, staff, and guests. If unable to present a valid corona passport when requested, you will be asked to leave the campus premises until you can demonstrate a valid corona pass.  Signage and posters informing of the requirement of a valid corona passport are visible at all building entrances, student areas and the canteen in the S-building.

At present, there are no changes to the existing teaching and exam plans. Teaching and winter exams continue to be scheduled as onsite activities – including the corona passport. Employees who have questions concerning teaching and/or exams should contact the relevant head of studies.

The Department Management Team encourages all staff to keep updated about current guidelines via AU’s corona website

Job openings at junior level

The deadline for the call for junior positions (assistant professorships and postdocs) is expected to be on 17 January 2022. The call will be posted shortly. As usual, both internal and external candidates are invited to apply. Please keep updated about job openings and deadlines via the Department’s staff portal here.

Research integrity workshops

On behalf of the section heads, I want to thank all scientific staff for sharing constructive feedback and reports given on the issue of research integrity and the issues and dilemmas that we may face as researchers within our respective specific disciplines. This general awareness of responsible conduct of research, questionable research practice, and freedom of research at AU will continue to be in focus for both current and new employees – through recurring local workshops and mandatory e-learning courses.
