Head of Department Niels Haldrup

Dear colleagues,

WPA follow-up

Earlier in the spring, all AU employees had the opportunity to share their views about working at AU in the workplace assessment survey (WPA). I hope that you have had the opportunity to read the report and will contribute to a discussion of the result with your colleagues and in the sections.

As part of the department’s WPA follow-up process and action planning, ECON’s local liaison committee (LSU) and departmental forum have meetings in early June. These two committees will be important participants in the process of identifying those areas across the department where improvement is required. I look forward to discussing the WPA result and issues to be raised with the members of the committees at the coming meetings.

The WPA survey also included questions about the physical conditions for your work at the department. Issues and comments raised about the physical work environment will be dealt with by the department’s occupational health and safety group.  Employees who have reported physical issues will be contacted directly before the summer break.

Annual salary negotiations

This year’s salary negotiations have now been completed. As in earlier years, the frame available was limited – this year to 0.5% of the 2021 wage sum, corresponding to approximately DKK 500,000. In the allocating process, I have had a good collaboration with the union representative as well as section heads and centre leaders. The results have been communicated to the applicants as well as some non-applicants. Both groups mentioned have been accommodated to some extent, others have not been accommodated in this round, unfortunately.

I wish you all a happy Ascension Day (Kristi Himmelfartsdag) on Thursday.
