Mentally ill die many years earlier than others

New research from Aarhus BSS confirms that people with mental disorders have an increased risk of premature mortality. When compared to the general population, average life expectancy is respectively 10 and 7 years shorter for men and women with mental disorders.

Significantly fewer pregnant women take antidepressants

Since 2011, the number of women receiving antidepressants during pregnancy has fallen by 33 per cent. This is shown by a comprehensive register-based study from Aarhus University. Postdoc Julie Werenberg Dreier from the National Centre for Register-based Research is behind the study.
