School of Business and Social Sciences still holds both EQUIS and AACSB accreditations, which are granted to business schools by the leading international accreditation bodies, EFMD and AACSB International, respectively.

The EQUIS accreditation, much like AACSB accreditation, is especially aimed at business activities, i.e. activities at departments of Economics and Business, Business Administration and Business Communication.

During the reaccreditation process in September 2013, EFMD first assessed that BSS did not meet their specific criteria. Shortly thereafter, the management team decided to request for a reexamination with increased focus on sharpening the arguments concerning the vision behind the model for School of Business and Social Sciences.

- I am pleased to see that EFMD can see the same strengths and potentials of BSS as we can, says Svend Hylleberg.

BSS now awaits the final decision on the third accreditation process, the AMBA accreditation, which has a special focus on MBA education.
